Appealing Mockumentary
A filmmaker receives from the queen of Belgium a request: to make a promotional documentary about her husband. The film should celebrate the competence of the king and bring unity among the Belgian people, through a strict script and directing cues from a bunch of royal advisors. However, whoever said this would be an infallible plan, could not be more wrong. Lightly surreal circumstances bring the king and his advisors to a fantastic road trip through the Balkans. Reality and fiction are mixed well, some absurd flavours are added and the whole is served on a beautiful golden plate. Peter Van den Begin, as King Nicholas III, has more heart than heroism, but conquers our hearts nonetheless.
