Rubbing Shoulders is an invitation to share. As a reflection of the richness of the Brussels audio-visual landscape, for each monthly screening of Rubbing Shoulders LuCi invites a young artist into Pilar to offer insight into their practice. We've chosen artists we are excited about: those who operate in Brussels but still have their fingers in many different pies. In order to effectively break down their working methods and strategies, and navigate their specific artistic scene, we're screening their student films alongside other relevant works chosen by the artist. 

To delve deeper into the artist’s initiatives and sources of inspiration, we give the artist the floor to develop their own form of conversation that engages the audience in an exchange of ideas and building blocks. This will take place before the screening in a convivial setting.

We beckon viewers to experience their films, not as a final product, but rather a union of various prompts and previous encounters: an instance within a larger artistic practice. The general framework of Rubbing Shoulders is something to be altered and moulded through conversations between the artist and LuCi. We are excited to discover the outcome alongside you.
