MOVULANGO + MARIJKE FLORIEN + BEXTue 21 Feb 2023
Psychedelic Romantic Evening
Winter goes on and on, but we've got your back with this dreamy, psychedelic romantic evening. All three acts incredible young talent to discover. Guaranteed your friends will be jealous that you were able to see them in this underlying setting. Do yourself a favor and come and warm your body and soul in the company of Movulango, BEX and Marijke Florien.
Bex is the alt-r&b project of Belgian/American singer, songwriter and producer Rebecca Driesmans. Together with her band consisting of Louise van den Heuvel, Arne Nuyts, Hyung Jin Ee and Victor Khaddaj, they bring a fusion of ethereal sounding melodies, warm vocals and blistering rhythms. With her background in jazz and love for electronic music, she creates an atmosphere in which her musicians and the audience can lose themselves. Think of: Anna Wise, Genevieve Artadi and a touch of Billie Eilish.
Marijke Florien (fka AUDRI)
Marijke Florien is a musician, vocalist, instrumentalist, producer, lyricist, composer, arranger, and songwriter based in Copenhagen and Belgium. She started her musical journey as a classical pianist and learned as a child what it means to write melodies and harmony filled with story and emotion. On her new album she goes on a musical exploration of the human body where themes, emotions, thoughts and philosophies are linked to body parts across the album's compositions. It’s a way of materialising feelings and thoughts to visualise mental illness while journeying through the human body. On stage Marijke will be joined by PJ Fossum (CA) on keys, Ivar Myrset Asheim (NO) on drums, Luca Curcio (IT) on bass and Luka Zabric (SI) on sax.
Movulango is the new project of Moses Mosuse, whose debut EP will follow at the end of September. Melancholic, trippy dreampop from outer space is what we can expect. Something that was apparently still missing in the DEEWEE family. "Every label needs a psychedelic romantic, right? Moses is the DEEWEE artist we have known the longest and have been working with from day one" Stephen Dewaele. Knowing that Moses is Stephen's godfather, you can take 'day one' very literally.
