Opening Night PILAR ASAP Festival

In the light of the third PILAR ASAP festival - The Fluid Identity Edition, Pilar asked none other than Sylvie Kreusch to set up the Opening Night. Alongside her, Uma Chine and Lo-lee-ta will take the stage.
Sylvie Kreusch
Sylvie Kreusch's voodoo-pop is dangerous, dreamy, and mysterious. Having been the vocalist of the former band Soldier's Heart and giving her involvement in Warhaus, Kreusch can hardly be called a newcomer. However, the femme fatale rises even more to the foreground with her first solo EP. With her smoldering vocals and velvety tones, she won critical acclaim from magazines and newspapers such as American Vogue and The New York Times. During live performances, Kreusch fully merges with her music: stirring and sensual at the same time.

Atypical rhythmic undulations and her demanding voice find a home on Kreusch’s debut EP Bada Bing:! Bada Boom. Consumed with romantic extremes, Kreusch’s whisper-to-a-scream timbral fluctuations are met with brutal honesty. Following her first release, Kreusch played across Europe receiving praise from Dazed and Beats One.

"Sylvie Kreusch is seductive, mesmerizing and slightly demonic in the best possible way"

Uma Chine
Uma Chine serves a delightful mix of roots and electronica. With their untitled first album (Starman records, 2019) they instantly conquered  a special place in the Belgian pop scene. “Wonderful debut”, OOR magazine judged. Besides Nele De Gussem (Maya’s Moving Castle, Inwolves), the band consists of members of Binti, Steiger, and St. Grandson. The layers of the voices, twisted guitar sounds and synths, and the original turns in the songs make for “an uncanny beautiful record”. Uma Chine intrigues the public with their particular style and live energy. The band has been touring in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Swiss since the release of their debut. Uma Chine’s second album will be released in 2021.

Lo-lee-ta
The trio Lo-lee-ta paints their smokey basslines and seductive beats with black - and white colors while soaring over a minimalist scenery of poetry and flirtatious vocals. In march 2019 they released their debut EP ‘Moondog’. Later that year they won the music contest ‘Soundtrack’.
