Vulcanize me is an absurd quest of 2 women trying to break free from a seemingly stuck situation. They search for a system where there is room to explode. A space where bodies rebel, where indomitable women, mother goddesses and biker babes rule. Their words are sometimes incoherent and erratic. They refuse to surrender to a prevailing morality that delights in going head over heels or being wiped out. Like tiny craters, they open up new possibilities....

For this study, Audrey Apers places 2 female performers amidst a stylized volcanic landscape. Volcanoes are incredibly powerful sources of change. Eruptions can create new landscapes, but also destroy everything in their path. How do their bodies relate to this immense primal force? They explore both the external landscape and their internal experience. What are the possible parallels? What forces are in the female body and how can that body relate to the destructive force within and around her?
