96 Back (dj)
96 Back dj will soundtrack the performances. Growing up amongst the bleep legends of the rolling Sheffield hills, Evan began nurturing his Ableton sorcery skills at an early age. At just 18 years old, he released his first EP 'Provisional Electronics' on CPU Records, quickly followed by his *debut* DJ set at the Boiler Room label showcase. Fast forward a bit and Evan's graduated from techno wunderkind to one of the most multi-faceted producers around. His 2019 debut album 'Excitable, Girl' saw him push the boundaries of experimental electro to include italo-tinged euphoric arpeggios, bittersweet cascading piano melodies and, of course, absolutely massive drops.

aya
aya is actually a real person from the north of England. Her work is primarily concerned with the transfigurative power of experience and memory on the physical body. aya’s heavily anticipated debut LP ‘im hole’ was released with Hyperdub. She has previously released music with Local Action, 2BReal, Tri Angle Records, Astral Plane Recordings and Wisdom Teeth. She co-runs the label YCO with BFTT, a home things for all things Yes Come On. Asides from her philanthropic work as self-proclaimed First Lady of the Bootleg, aya is in her 3rd year of monthly radio residency with NTS, whom she loves with her whole heart.
Iceboy Violet: "I was going to see rappers perform and eventually weirder electronic acts, but I felt unengaged. Even when I started performing myself, I was standing behind a desk, turning dials, playing music as if no one was there. Mutualism, the collective I’m part of, put on aya at Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds. That was the first time I’d seen someone take the format of standing behind a desk and turning knobs and turn it into something completely new. She’ll regularly cut out the music to interact with the crowd, make a joke, or berate them for not dancing, which is one of my favourite things. She shakes the audience into realising that a performance involves two. You’re all in there together." - INTERVIEW QUIETUS

Iceboy Violet
Iceboy Violet is a British rapper and producer whose unique releases have been bolstering the northwest UK’s experimental scene over the last few years. Borrowing inspiration from places as far flung as the hardcore punk scene to Odd Future to Daniel Johnston, Iceboy Violet’s songs, although painted with a harsh brush, are hued by vibrant colours. In an interview with The Quietus they said, “I want to make music that allows you to have the escape I often need.” The sonic world they build for listeners to escape into is vivid and engulfed in reverberating echoes. Tinted with nostalgia but truly forward looking, warm distorted synths swim over tectonic bass drums as Iceboy Violet spits their verses. Cavernous soundscapes define their debut album Not a Dream But a Controlled Explosion (2023), which is a project about desire and fantasy. These lush ideas rub up against frictive textures and moving vocals that bring a crooning, stretched-out quality to the often frenetic rap canon. Amidst the noisy debris of Iceboy Violet’s tracks is a humble and comforting sense of self-discovery; they have said that forcing themself to be vulnerable to connect with people is a core part of their music.
Iceboy Violet offers an innovative vision of a rap music fed by futuristic electronic music and organic experimentation. Their beats evoke trap or IDM, feeding a syncretic vision of electronic rap that ideally conjures up contemporary anxieties.
