Slow music and brunch concept in Brussels meets family owned arts and music collective. Matinée is a young collective from Brussels that found the pause button during covid and is happy to share it with us. For the occasion of PILAR ASAP The Sexual Healing/Feeling Edition, they join forces with the Ghent/Brussels family of Dauwtrip. Together they have put a pleasantly varied line-up, within which there is room to dream away in the large hall with inspiring live acts or to hang out in the bar with carefully chosen records by DJs. Brunch is served here, so you can literally roll out of bed and come. Without a worry, as fit on a Sunday. Free entrance with voluntary contribution. No reservations needed for the brunch. Bring a book, crosswords, blanket, pillow, toy, your best friend, your grandfather, … who/whatever you feel like having with you on a Sunday.

10:00 / Mevis
Mevis
Founder of Matinée. Slow music and brunch concept in Brussels. Electronic clouds & field recordings.

10:00 / MDB
MDB
MDB is short for Marie De Broeck. Marie uses music as a tool to float. She tries to look for textures and tones that make us feel weightless. The music she picks varies from pieces overflowing with sound to very subtle tickling tracks.

12:00 / Bear Bones, Lay Low
Bear Bones, Lay Low
Shortly after leaving Venezuela to settle in Belgium, Ernesto González started creating psychedelic electronic sound under the BBLL moniker and has since been performing and releasing music around Europe and abroad. Dissonant abstractions, high-energy rhythmical workouts, bizarre melodic reveries and minimalist/maximalist drone practices all form part of the musical language that BBLL has developed for well over a decade, inviting to both solemn listening and ecstatic dancing, in a mental space where the archaic meets the futuristic, where the earthly meets the cosmic.

12:30 / Aaron
Aaron
Aaron, the youngest of the Dauwtrip siblings, charmes the audience with compelling and melancholic atmospheres which keep the audience in his grip from start to finish. Besides his passion for electronic music, he also enjoys stormy autumn days, a pelican’s flight, plantains and rocking chairs.

12:30 / PiP
PiP
PiP is short for Pepijn Gyssels. He’s been active in the Belgian electronic music scene as a DJ and producer but also as co-founding member of the multidisciplinary nightlife collective Dauwtrip. His style can be defined as eclectic, moving freely between dreamy ambient and the more glitchy stuff, looking for grooves and rhythm on the way. Mesmerize, pivot and change.

14:00 / Liew Niyomkarn
Liew Niyomkarn
Liew Niyomkarn is a sound artist and musician based in Antwerp. Her work focuses on listening practice and the conveyance of memories through sound. She uses field recordings to detect time, (non)-human voices, everyday routines, text,  archival sounds, and different tuning systems in nature -- to combine them with a sonic palette and the properties of sound itself, such as sounds of spaces -- she presents her work in the form of live performance and sound installation.

14:00 / Coline Cornélis
Coline Cornélis
Coline Cornélis is a Brussels-based DJ & illustrator. In her sets ranging from gentle ambient to sweaty techno, she selects rare songs and recordings, dear to her heart, which she interweaves in order to form unusual mixes. Driven by a fierce interest in pure sounds, harmony and textures, Coline intend to offer an emotional background, a story and a form of delicacy to her live or recorded performances.

16:00 / Lawrence Le Doux
Lawrence Le Doux
Under an array of different names, with a nucleus of different collaborators, and moved by an even greater set of influences, Laurent Baudoux has been etching a critical place in Belgium’s music scene for over two decades. However, it’s under the wryly named alias of Lawrence Le Doux a.k.a. LLD that he’s finding a new audience and appreciation for his sunlit electronics all over again. Revolving around his unique ear for house and techno, LLD’s gift for melody plays a central role in the tapestry of his music. His productions subtly shift between dreamy melancholia and the hot, impulsive charm of summer nights.

16:10 / Đ.K.
Đ.K.
Visions of a mystique-imbued forest caught in the mist of time, an ominous symphony of dubbed-out drums tumbling and whirling martially, sense-awakening temple-like atmospheres expanding to hypnotic effect, the thick veil of monsoon dripping its way across the quiet foliage as you veer off into an altered state of consciousness. A lush, trance-inducing experience in itself, Đ.K.‘s sound encapsulates all of this and more. Delving in gamelan and other styles of percussive music emerged from easternmost territories, which he injects with a fair share of cutting-edge club hoodoo, dynamic breaks and hints of dystopian escapology, Đ.K.weaves narratives astride two worlds: the hyperconnected and the spiritual; communicating vessels in between which the truth may surface, yet-to-be-tamed and harnessed, forever elusive to understanding.
