Roxane Métayer is a Brussels-based visual artist and musician whose work is rooted in forest wildlife and the living world. She combines field recordings with wind and string instruments, voice, and poetic texts to create immersive soundscapes inspired by bioacoustics and mimicry. Her recent octophonic installation Appareils Sporophoniques—featuring handmade speakers and a programmed microcontroller—has been presented at Overtoon, STUK, and ISELP, and she is now developing a new version during a residency in Japan using cedar-wood speakers.

She collaborates widely with artists, musicians, and dancers, leads workshops for young audiences, and has released music on labels such as Matière Mémoire, Kraak, Morc, and Vlek. She has performed across Europe and beyond, including in Georgia and Japan. Selected by the SHAPE platform in 2022/2023, her album Perlée de Sève was named one of Bandcamp’s best experimental releases, and her work has been featured in international press and broadcast on stations including BBC, NTS, and Lyl Radio.

Mattias De Craene has long explored the borderlands between genres, moving from jazz to dark film music and electronic rituals. Taiwanese-Canadian artist Alex Zhang Hungtai likewise resists being confined to a single style. As Dirty Beaches, he gained recognition for music that seemed to drift straight out of a David Lynch film: an intriguing blend of post-punk, jazzy ambient, and cinematic noir atmospheres. For this concert, the two musicians bring their worlds together to create a sound that is at once intimate, enigmatic, and hypnotic.
