Open Call
Open Call: Film Curation Program (October – February)
Justine Wolfs
Do you have a passion for cinema? A head full of curation ideas? An urge to shape a film series around a strong concept? To bring together speakers, connect short films with feature films, or place experimental cinema alongside film classics? Maybe you want to combine film with food, conversation, and community-building. You come up with the vision — we provide the space.
One thing we strongly value is the inclusion of work by Belgian film students (student shorts), either as part of the screenings or integrated into the wider program.
For our October to February program, we are looking for enthusiasts, collectives, groups of friends, film geeks, emerging curators... to program a four-part film series at Pilar. You’ll be given a lot of creative freedom, while we provide production support throughout the process.
You will work as autonomously as possible: researching screening licensing fees, developing a creative visual identity for the program, writing contextual texts, and helping promote the series. You'll also get a workshop form our technician to learn how to set-up your screening and projection. Pilar will support you productionally, both in preparation and on the screening nights themselves. We’re here to help with any questions, but we encourage you to steer the project in your own direction.
Screening Dates:
26 OCT, 30 NOV, 25 JAN, 15 FEB
Budget:
€1500
