New Residency Barak Lili M

Barak Lili M is looking for promising artists who make a link with art and science (in the broadest sense of the word) for a new residence. With Barak Lili M, PILAR occupies part of the See U site in Elsene, close to the VUB campus. See U includes the temporary program of the new Usquare city district, which will be built there from 2023. In this former barracks we reside together with eighty other sustainable and innovation projects and organizations.

The three studios are located along the Kroonlaan 227 (Building H) on the former Fritz Tousaint site in Ixelles and each comprise 34 m2. These spaces can be used for disciplines such as visual work, video editing, photography, illustration, etc.

• Rental price: 100 € month (inc. Costs and utilities)
• Duration: July 1, 2021 - March 30, 2022 (with possibility of extension)
• Mutual notice period: 3 weeks

The whole is 'robust' finished but still provided with the necessary comfort. There is central heating and plenty of daylight in every room. The spaces are accessible 24/7. Staying overnight is not allowed.

• You are under 35 years of age.
• Your art practice makes links with science, scientific research, scientific themes.
• You live / work in Brussels
• You are willing to collaborate with Pilar's artistic team (at least 1 public show moment during your studio period)
