Pilar ASAP The For X's Sake Edition

PILAR ASAP is a semi-annual, multidisciplinary festival with a narrative programme. Attuned to the pulse of society, we merge different artistic and scientific disciplines. At PILAR ASAP you can experience a challenging, varied offer: from exhibition, debate and workshops to concert evenings; from dance, film and performances to in-depth talks. Central to it is the work of (young) artists that we think you should discover as soon as possible. For a month they will be part of our Art Science Association Platform, where they will take a critical and investigative look at the current, complex issues that undoubtedly keep you awake sometimes.

The Enlightenment paved the way to our secular society: ‘God is dead’, ‘yolo’, ‘fomo’... Ancient messiahs nowadays make way for new, more modern oracles. But what about the current quest for ‘true existence’? Where are today’s forms of a sense of purpose situated? Who believes what? And who do we believe in?  What does the seemingly growing enormous diversity of world views mean for our society? It is high time to zoom in on the role of meaning and religion today at the inaugural PILAR ASAP. Dive with us into a wide variety of philosophical practices during ‘the For X’s Sake edition’. You will come out feeling reborn. We believe that. In fact, we are almost certain of it.
